I. Introduction of Scholarship
Established by the Chinese Ministry of Education, the program supports international students to study for master's and doctoral degrees in China.
Financial support criteria: exemption of registration fee, tuition fee, laboratory fee and basic internship fee; provision of on-campus accommodation; provision of comprehensive medical insurance for international students coming to China; provision of living expenses (RMB 3,000/month for master's students and RMB 3,500/month for doctoral students).
Scholarship holders must pass the annual review to continue studying with scholarship.
II. Application Requirements
1. Non-Chinese citizens in good health.
2. Education and age requirements.
(1) Applicants for master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be no more than 35 years old;
(2) Applicants for doctoral degree must have a master's degree and be no more than 40 years old.
3. Language requirements.
(1) For Chinese-medium majors, Chinese proficiency must meet any one of the following criteria.
a. HSK 5 certification with a total score over 180 within 2 years;
b. Prior study experiences (within 5 years) in the medium of Chinese and obtained a certification.
(2) For English-medium majors, English proficiency must meet any one of the following criteria.
a. IELTS 6.0 and above or TOEFL 80 and above within two years after the test date;
b. Prior study experiences (within 5 years) in the medium of English and obtained a certification.
III. Available Programs
All master's and doctoral programs offered by Beijing Jiaotong University for international students can be funded by the Chinese Government Scholarship High Level Graduate Program, please visit the website for details. The key recommended programs are as follows:

IV. Application Procedure
1. Complete the application procedure at Chinese Government Scholarship Information System (http://www.campuschina.org) (Program Category Type B, BJTU Agency Number: 10004) and download the application form.
2. Complete the application procedure at BJTU International Student Service System (https://bjtu.17gz.org), and pay the application fee.
V. Application Materials
1. Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form
2. Personal Information Page of Passport
3. Notarized original and Chinese/English translation of the highest education certificate
4. Notarized original transcripts and Chinese/English translation (from undergraduate period)
5. Proof of language proficiency
6. Study plan (Over 1,000 words, Chinese/English)
7. Personal resume
8. Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors (with signature and contact information)
9. Letter of acceptance from the supervisor (not required, can download the template from the official website or provided by the supervisor)
10. Medical Examination Form for Foreigners (valid within six months from the date of application)
11. Certificate of no criminal record (valid within six months from the date of application)
